Icarus Photography

Hi there! I’m Katy, and I’m the heart and soul of Icarus Photography. I provide custom wedding, portrait and lifestyle photography to Bloomington and south-central Indiana with both in-studio and on-location photographic services. I graduated from Indiana University in 2010 with a BA in Journalism, specializing in photojournalism, and with minors in Studio Art and Art History. I was named a Top Rated Local Photographer in Indiana (#4 in 2019) and Top Rated Local Business in Indiana (#78 in 2019), and was named one of the best lifestyle photographers in the Indianapolis area by Peerspace in 2019.

I’m the mother of a sweet, kind and super smart eight-year-old little girl named Sagan, and married to my husband David, a talented actor and director in the Bloomington theater community. They both inspire me to be creative in new and wonderful ways every day. Art makes my heart happy, and photography is my creative outlet of choice. I truly love my job.
