A little bit about me so you feel like you're connecting with a real person- I'm Emily. I grew up on a farm in Wisconsin and so I love animals and nature. I love thrift stores, tropical plants, and horses. I live with a little tribe of wildmen- my husband, my two year old, and our cat who is probably part lion. I have a counseling degree and that has really formed me as a photographer. My film guy is my husband Zach, and we met in a library. He knows five different ways to brew coffee and can play six different instruments.

Most people feel a little awkward in front of the camera, right? Well, I earned a Bachelor's degree in counseling before I started my photography business, and so I excel at reading people, inviting all personalities to shine in front of the camera, and helping people feel natural, beautiful, and comfortable in front of the camera. I help draw out natural beauty and chemistry for moments that look just as good as they felt when they happened!

    Emily more than delivered when it came to capturing our big day. She made every effort for us to be comfortable and guide us into effortless photos that turned out wonderfully. The quality of photos that she delivered to us in our gallery were so lovely. We 1000% recommend Fern & Fountain to any prospective couples looking to have the uniqueness of their relationship captured. Bonus points for a photography that makes it a point to get to know her couples and build a relationship with them alongside photographing their relationship and special day.     Emily was such a kind and organized communicator from the very beginning! She made me feel like my wedding was in great hands and that my photos would be filled with my personality, emotions, once-in-a-lifetime moments, and that if anything went wrong, she would be able to come up with a quick fix. The way she works with light is amazing. Most importantly though, she's phenomenal with people. The way she interacts helps people to feel so natural and authentic because she really sets people at ease and makes them feel comfortable. I'm a pretty awkward person but I was amazed that working with Emily brings out my confident, sexy, joyful side. She's a magician and an angel. Stop looking for your wedding photographer- if she's free, HIRE HER.

    I cannot recommend Fern & Fountain enough! I was actually the first bride with the privilege of working with both Emily for photography and Zach for our wedding video back in May 2019. It was so fun to have a husband/wife duo capture all our special moments. When I found out it would be raining on our wedding day, Emily sent me a list of all the reasons why it would make for exceptional photos and then proceeded to stand in the rain without an umbrella to capture our first look and wedding party pictures. Her unique style and mood was exactly what we hoped our wedding album would be! Our wedding photos are absolutely perfect! Zach pieced together a perfect embodiment of our big day in a wedding video that we will cherish forever.
