We are the award-winning husband and wife duo behind Birch Tree Photography. We met in engineering school and starting shooting weddings together before we were even married. After our two adorable boys were born, Nina wanted to focus on being the best mom possible, so she switched gears a bit and started focusing on things like our couples' experience, scheduling, and social media. She still shoots a handful of weddings with me throughout the year, when time allows (or if there are food trucks involved... hint hint!)

Right now, our life is a crazy mix of photographing amazing people, Starbucks runs, and fixing up our old house. We wouldn’t change a thing. Family is the most important thing to us, but we also squeeze in a million interests just to make sure we don't get any sleep! We love animals - right now we just have 2 cats (Ziti & Meatball), and 2 bee hives - but we're hoping to get some chickens too! We can't go a day without coffee, chocolate, or buying something from Target for some reason. We love being outdoors, skiing (ok mainly just Alex), delicious food, Netflix binges, and travel to just about anywhere.

We were so thrilled with Alex’s photos of our wedding that we also turned to him for our newborn pictures and professional headshots. His sense of humor makes smiling come naturally, even in the most posed of portraits. Since we opted not to have a wedding videographer, we added on Moments in Motion, and were so happy we did. We would highly recommend Alex to anyone looking for a committed, professional, friendly, and fun photographer for wedding photos, family sessions and beyond.

Birch Tree made our photos look and feel great! My husband and I don't love to get our photos taken, normally they feel very awkward. Alex gave us all the tips and tricks to feel comfortable and the end product turned out beautifully. We look forward to capturing future memories with Birch Tree.

Working with Alex for our wedding was such a breeze and an amazing experience! From meeting him at the first time at the studio, to the shoot of our wedding day, it was all extremely comfortable and authentic. Not the mention the pictures were more astonishing that I could have asked for. There was not one thing I would have changed about working with Alex and the photos themselves.
