We hired Southern Jewel Hospitality to cater our wedding in October, and unfortunately, the experience was a nightmare. The catering team arrived with fewer staff than agreed upon in our contract, and they ran out of food—this included not just the meat, but all food items—before 30 of our 70 guests were able to eat. Our wedding coordinator had to address the situation with Southern Jewel Hospitality, and their solution was to order four medium Domino's pizzas. While we appreciated their attempt to provide something, it was far from sufficient. During our golden hour wedding photos, we had to place a Doordash order to get additional food for the remaining guests and vendors. We ended up spending an additional 500 on Thai food to ensure everyone was fed. One of our other vendors was kind enough to help us by picking up the food, which eased some of our stress during an already chaotic time. To add to the disappointment, Juwanza, the representative from Southern Jewel Hospitality, left the event 2 hours earlier than specified in our contract without informing us about the food shortages or any actions they were taking to address the situation. We also paid extra for the catering team to cut and plate our wedding cake, but due to Juwanza leaving early, my wife’s mother had to step in and take care of this task, which meant she missed out on being present during such an important part of the day.

Hello Kyle, We've never spoken before and it's a shame this is the first communication between the 2 of us. I won't go back down this road again, but I will say I believe you have every right to voice your opinions and I hate that your experience was an abysmal one. As you know, I have addressed these things with your wife, and we tried to rectify this appropriately, but I believe it's worth including the factors that led to the situation that unfolded in October. A split menu was ordered for 80 guests + 10 vendor meals, and only 40 portions of each protein was requested. Couple that with your selection for a self-serve buffet, allowing guests to take as much of both options as they wish. The staff, several of which quit, would not have impacted that since they wouldn't have been serving. The quantities ordered was insufficient for the type of dining you were expecting. Your event is an unfortunate singularity that has never happened before in 16+ years, and we can promise it will never happen again. Should anyone ever have doubts, they can inquire with literally anyone else who's booked us and they would be hard pressed to find another bad experience. I sincerely hate that you both were the ones with the bad experience. Again, I'm sorry the experience was less than what either of us was hoping for, and we wish you both an incredible marriage filled with love and memories. Take care, sir, and have a fantastic 2025.
