Ed Mays Groove Kitchen is a red hot Seattle based dance band made up of some of the Pacific Northwest’s finest entertainers. We specialize in classic R&B in the tradition of Aretha Franklin, Sade, Earth Wind & Fire, Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, Bonnie Raitt, etc. But because of our extensive backgrounds our repertoire is actually quite broad and can include vocal & instrumental jazz, classic rock, blues , Latin, etc. We also play a lot of current hits. It helps to have something for everybody. However which way you like it, we’ve got the groove that is going to make you dance!

The Seattle based dance band has been mesmerizing audiences since 2011. What sets Groove Kitchen apart is the level of talent and the wide variety of genres. Our specialty is the classic R&B as sung by a world class female vocalist, but our repertoire also includes a wide variety of classic and current rock, oldies, Latin, and jazz. We played several gigs this summer as a straight up jazz band. Many times we play a jazz dinner or cocktail set for weddings and then get down and boogie for the dance sets. We are now backing the fabulous Emily McIntosh as our lead singer and have added Randy Norris on guitar and vocals.

    Groove Kitchen was the perfect band for our wedding reception. From the very beginning, they were extremely responsive and attentive to all of our questions and requests. Ed, the band leader, was especially impressive - he quickly responded to every email and phone call, and paid close attention to all the details to ensure our day went smoothly. On the wedding day, the band brought great energy and really engaged the entire room, setting a fun and lively atmosphere that kept our guests dancing all night long. The music was professional and exceeded our expectations, and multiple guests commented that it was the best wedding band they had ever heard. We are so grateful to Groove Kitchen for helping make our special day truly unforgettable.

    I recently hired Ed Mays’ band, Groove Kitchen, to play at a retirement party for my wife. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience. The band showed up on time, was very accommodating to the requirements of the event and played great music. They were just right in the sound level to provide good dancing music while allowing other attendees to carry on conversations. I would strongly recommend them to anyone.
