In 1910, President Taft signed the bill to establish Glacier National Park as the country’s 10th national park. Mr. Healy was given a plumbing contractor for the train depot here in St. Paul, where he met Samuel Bartlett, the architect of many of the railroad depots and Glacier National Park Lodge. Healy then commissioned Bartlett to renovate and enlarge the house. In 1914, the farm was sold to John Healy, the owner of Healy Plumbing and Heating Company of St. Paul. Mr. Healy’s company became closely tied to the Great Northern Railroad, as it provided the heating and plumbing for many of the train depots that were being built around the country at that time. The farm was named Hope Glen Farm, the name of John Healy’s mother’s maiden name of Hope, and the house settles in a Glen, thus Hope Glen.

The interpretive center has several rooms and spaces available to rent for meetings, wedding receptions, galas, company events, birthday parties, family reunions and more! The multipurpose room can be split into three smaller spaces (Aspen, Oak and Willow), two larger rooms or left as one large room. The interpretive center also has a smaller, separate conference room, an exhibit space and a patio space that are available to rent.

Glass House is a unique event space in the North Loop of Minneapolis located inside the facility of Hennepin Made, a local company founded in 2011 drawing on traditional glassblowing techniques to craft hand-blown accents that blur the line between everyday object and modern art. The space’s original concrete floors, cinderblock walls, and steel beam construction have been re ned and accentuated by modern elements to create a beautiful backdrop that blends past and present. Our building at 147 Holden Street was constructed in 1955 as a glass warehouse and mirror manufacturing plant for the Ford McNutt Company. Hennepin Made acquired the property in 2016 from Brinn Glass in order to expand their operations and grow their vision to connect people through craft. Thus, Parallel Cafe + Holden Room were created.

The park was originally named Douglas Triangle for the street on which it is located. The name was officially changed to Mt. Curve Triangles (plural), on November 4, 1925, when the previous Mt. Curve Triangle was renamed Fremont Triangle. The park was officially named in honor of Thomas Lowry in 1984. Lowry is best known for developing the street railway system in Minneapolis. The Lowry Hill neighborhood, in which the park is located, was named because he owned most of the land and built his imposing mansion on the hill.

NORD SOCIAL HALL is the newest addition to the French Meadow family of welcoming event spaces. It is located at our Lyndale Avenue flagship location and holds up to 150 people. Nord Social Hall can be dressed to suit your event–from “Gatsby” style glamour to French Provencial elegance. With hardwood floors, a large wood-slatted wall and eclectic clusters of chandeliers, the Social Hall allows for your style to come through. The Phelps, or “Turtle”, Fountain is the centerpiece of the Lyndale Park Annual-Perennial Garden. It was moved here from its former downtown site in Minneapolis’ Gateway Park. The combination of fountain and flowers, contained by an undulating hedge, makes this a popular spot for garden enthusiasts, wedding ceremonies and photographs.

Lyndale Park Gardens encompass the Peace Garden, Rose Garden, Annual & Perennial Garden, and a Butterfly and Hummingbird Garden. The Peace Garden features hardy alpine plants and dwarf conifers and begins blooming in mid-April. The Annual/Perennial peaks in mid-June and the Rose Garden typically begins blooming in mid-June and lasts until early October. Butterflies and hummingbirds can be seen throughout the summer.
