Woodsy Floral started by accident believe it or not. Flowers have always been a part of my husband and I’s marriage. Every Friday or every other Friday my husband, Lonnie would go get fresh stems from the floral shop down the road from our house. With crazy looks he grabbed them. This turned into me making arrangements for our events. When some of our friends saw these floral arrangements, they asked if we could make more for their events. We had one friend that owns a wedding venue, she brought up becoming a vendor for her brides. Well after a little bit of pressuring from Lonnie, we attended her open house as a floral vendor and LOVED IT.

I found Woodsy Floral through Zola. From the moment I sent in an injury, Lonnie and his wife were super personable, kind, and easy going. After a quick phone to talk vision and budget, I knew I had found my florist. It was so nice to have a vendor that genuinely cared. Lonnie is the nicest man! He would check in often and was flexible making him easy to work with. He captured my vision of simplicity and romance perfectly. Tyler was amazing!! We had him as our photographer for our engagement and wedding photos. He was always responsive and made us comfortable with taking photos. He was professional in the way he ran the day and never missed a shot. Our day was captured perfectly through his photos and we recommend him 100x over. After looking at the beautiful images Emily had on her website, we knew that she was an amazing photographer that we would be lucky to work with. After we got to talk to her on the phone and got to know her loving and fun personality, we knew we HAD to work with her - and we are so grateful that we did. She was always incredibly responsive, and would often reach out to me first to get details nailed down (which any bride in the midst of wedding planning can tell you is a true gift)! We did our engagement photos with her, and while neither of us are usually very comfortable in front of the camera, she got photos of us where we're just laughing, being goofy, and have huge smiles on our faces. We loved our time with her. She impressed us even more on our wedding day, where she jumped into everything she could help with - even things that we hadn't asked her to do - from the beginning to the end. When my mom couldn't figure out the buttons on the back of my dress while I was getting ready, Emily did them and helped me finish getting dressed; and when we were getting ready to leave and my bridesmaids were struggling to get everyone into a tunnel for our exit, she got everyone where they needed to be and made them laugh while she did it. Also, everyone who was a part of our wedding has complimented her - my brother-in-law consistently talks about how great she was, my bridesmaids talk about how she was so friendly and funny, and we always get compliments on our photos. She truly is AMAZING, and our wedding day would not have been as great as it was without her! Final plus - I often struggle with how I look and in feeling confident, but every time I see the photos Emily took of our wedding I feel beautiful and can see the joy captured in our day. If we need photos again, we will absolutely use Emily.

We absolutely LOVED The Springs Waxahachie! What a stunning venue! Chelsea and Michelle were wonderful to work with as well, answering my hundreds of questions along the way! We’ve had many compliments on how beautiful the venue was by all of our guests. It accommodated our 250 guest count perfectly. My biggest critique would be to have an easier system for all of the info they give, and ask for throughout the planning process. They have tons of PDFS and links and google forms and it just was too hard to keep track of it all at times. If they used Honeybook or another platform to keep it all in ONE central hub, that would be a DREAM for planning. Because of it, little things got missed, like neither my planner or I knew we needed table cloths for cocktail hour tables, I had no idea we had to purchase a separate package to have champagne in the bridal suite while getting ready etc.. Mid way through our planning, they offered a new DJ package which we went with and he ended up being awesome- however, we didn’t get to know who our DJ was or talk to him until about 2 weeks before the wedding- That was a bit stressful! Otherwise, I wish we could re-live our wedding day again and again at this venue! There’s no where else we could have imagined being married!

I think the main difference between her and another wedding planner I spoke with was that Michelle asked WAY more questions to get to know myself, my fiancé, our story, and how we envisioned our day. Michelle is very knowledgable and sweet. She definitely has a lot of experience and it shows when you are working with her to plan your event. She always seemed like she was one step ahead of me- as it should be :) I think my favorite part of hiring someone to help me with the wedding was that 30 days out she took over all of the communications with the vendors coordinating everything, which alleviated a lot of mental stress for me that I wouldn't have to worry about any of that. Wedding day- she was super helpful and I'm sure she handled plenty of problems that came up that I knew nothing about, which is exactly what you want your wedding planner doing! I 1000% think it is worth it to hire someone to help you plan your wedding and I'm so glad I did!

The staff at Aristide made our wedding planning so easy! Through this venue we were able to book packages that included vendors for our bakery, dj, stationary needs (invitations and signs), flowers, and even a luxury car exit! Each vendor reached out personally to us and helped make our visions come to life. Sydnee took care of us as our event coordinator and was so accommodating the entire time. She helped with all of our questions and was always quick with responding to our emails or text messages. Our day of coordinator, Kiana helped make the day run so smoothly which we really appreciated. As I was getting ready, I didn’t have to worry about any of the vendors, decorations, or timing because of how well organized she was and it brought so much relief on a day that is usually hectic. Lastly, but certainly not least, our DJ Aiden was really the star of the show for us and our guests! We got paired up with Aiden through the venue because of his vibe and he provided such a great energy! We got to have a meeting with him about specific songs we wanted and cues and he nailed everything we were looking for from my entrance into the ceremony to the very last song with our guests. He got everyone on the dance floor, it was never empty the entire night. We can’t thank this amazing staff enough!!

Michele did such a fantastic job. I'm typically a pretty low maintenance person- like blow-dried hair and tinted moisturizer are about as glam as I get- so, I really wanted a pro who could make me feel beautiful, but still myself. Michele delivered! We did a hair and make-up trial a couple of months before the wedding (pictured below). It was super helpful, because I realized that I wanted to do my hair slightly different and a more lightweight foundation. I felt perfect on my wedding day and my makeup looked fantastic all night. It was a hot day, so I worried I would have looked like a mess, but whatever makeup magic Michele did had me looking fantastic all day! Michele also did my mom and MIL's hair and makeup and they both looked beautiful. She's so sweet!

Maie Florals was the florist for my wedding and Courtney was an absolute dream to work with. She really cared about my vision and she executed it perfectly! She took the time to understand what I wanted and she was very prepared and professional during all of our discussions.
