The First Look ✨

  • If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind experience without the stress of traveling from place to place, an all-inclusive honeymoon destination is for you.
  • Across the world several destinations take pride in their luxury and all-inclusive hotels that fit your every need.
  • An all-inclusive hotel can take the stress out of traveling for you and your partner.

If the first thing you think of when you hear “all-inclusive resort” is a sad buffet and daytime karaoke, let us stop you there. Don’t let the dated menu of services from resorts past turn you off. Today’s all-inclusive packages look more like scuba diving as a standard and top-shelf liquors on the 24-hour room service menu.

For anyone planning a honeymoon, all-inclusive resorts hold the extra magic of banishing mark up stress and decision making—two quirks of wedding planning you’ll be happy to leave at the altar.

“Chances are, you'll have stretched your budget to the limit to cover the wedding and you'll be exhausted once the big day is over, which makes all-inclusives ideal for honeymooners,” says Jill Starley-Grainger, travel writer and editor of Jetset Journeys. “Your meals, drinks, and activities are all based in one area, so you don't need to go far to find what you want. You can eat, drink, and enjoy plenty of on-site activities without having to worry about the costs.”

All-inclusives can offer lots of value, especially if you don’t have an astronomical honeymoon budget.

That said, all-inclusive isn’t a blanket term and can mean something different resort to resort or package to package. “Some [honeymoon packages] include all drinks, restaurants, menu items, tips, and activities,” says Starley-Grainger. “At others, you'll pay extra for everything except the cheapest own-brand booze, buffet meals, and a sun lounger.”

Top All-Inclusive Honeymoon Resorts

To get you started on finding your ideal all-inclusive setup, we asked our personal honeymoon planners to share their most recommended all-inclusive resorts and best honeymoon destinations from Jamaica to Riviera Maya.

Excellence Oyster Bay, Jamaica

Why We Love It: Excellence is a trailblazer in the all-inclusive world. Design-forward, foodie-friendly, and focused on stellar service, Excellence Oyster Bay is the ultimate brain-off beaching destination.

This Oyster Bay, Jamaica outpost opened in 2018 on a private peninsula surrounded by dense mangrove and pristine beaches. The secluded vibe is a world away from busy Montego Bay (less than an hour away by car), and most guests stay on property for their entire stay.

It’s easy to understand why—the true all-inclusive set up covers meals and drinks in eight restaurants and 10 bars, 24-hour room service, all non-motorized watersports, taxes and gratuities, and a lot more.

Romance Tip: Upgrade to Excellence Club status and get access to a private stretch of beach, exclusive pool, upgraded room amenities, and a members-only restaurant. You can also organize couples treatments in the Miilé Spa (for an extra fee).

Getting There: Fly into Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport then make the 45-minute to one-hour drive east to the resort. Rates range from $100 through a car service and $300 via the resort concierge.

Sanctuary Cap Cana, DR

Why We Love It: An easy 15-minute hop from Punta Cana International Airport, this resort is more mini-village than hotel. You’ll find a Spanish-style castle structure, central plazas, tropical foliage galore, and gorgeous white-sand beaches.

The 323 rooms and suites are still fresh from a 2018 renovation, done up in beachy shades, honey-colored marble, and light woods. Choose between the main Colonial section (with the fastest access to the beach), the Castle enclave (surrounded by a salt-water pool), or the standalone Villas complex. Wherever you sleep you’ll have access to meals in the resort’s five restaurants, drinks in the six bars, 24-hour room service, access to a private beach, nightly entertainment, and more.

Romance Tip: For an extra fee you can book a private meal for two on the beach—packages start at $200 for a seafood feast and choice of three wines. Travelers in suites also have access to round-the-clock butler service.

Getting There: Book a car in advance for the 15-minute drive from Punta Cana International Airport. You’ll be a 30-minute ride to the restaurant- and bar-filled town of Bavaro.

Sandals Grenada, Grenada

Why We Love It: Sandals Resorts specialize in adults-only all-inclusive beach resorts, with 15 hotels on six Caribbean islands. The Grenada edition stands apart for its relatively compact size (225 rooms on 17 beachfront acres) and a mix of seaside and cliffside suites. All are kitted out with honeymoon-friendly features like deep soaking tubs for two, furnished balconies, and, in some, private infinity-edge pools.

And, like all Sandals retreats, the all-in plan covers everything from meals and drinks to taxes and airport transfers. Keep an eye out for your quiet spot among the lush grounds—fire pits, gazebos, and hammocks made for two dot the resort.

Romance Tip: For extra privacy, reserve one of the new Skypool Suites, which each have a private infinity pool with hillside views across the resort grounds, beach, and sea.

Getting There: Transfers are included in the room rate, so let the concierge organize your five-minute shuttle ride from Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND).

Warwick Resort & Spa, Paradise Island, Bahamas

Why We Love It: For honeymooners on a budget, our travel planners love this Bahamas adults-only all-inclusive option. The harborside location at the (relatively) quiet southern end of Paradise Island means you’re away from the Atlantis megaresort crowds, but still have access to all the casinos and nightlife.

Rooms also have a more contemporary look than many neighboring resorts, mixing graphic black and white prints with pops of yellow and aqua, and all have floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the resort or harbor. The beach and roped off swimming area are on the small side, but there’s a huge lagoon-style pool and shuttle bus to nearby Cabbage Beach.

Romance Tip: Splurge on a couples’ massage at Mermaid’s Lookout, a dedicated spa cabana with views across the harbor.

Getting There: It’s a 25-minute transfer from Nassau International Airport, but there can be traffic getting over the bridge from the main island to Paradise Island. You’ll be a 10-minute walk to all the restaurants, boutiques, and casinos at Atlantis.

Jade Mountain, St. Lucia

Why We Love It: One of the most unique honeymoon destinations in the Caribbean, Jade Mountain is a design-lovers playground, perched cliffside overlooking the mighty Piton peaks. Rooms are dubbed “sanctuaries” and have a signature missing fourth wall, leaving spaces open to the elements and sounds of the surrounding jungle.

Not a traditional all-inclusive, you can add a meals-and-drinks plan for an extra $390 (and up) per person per day. James Beard–alum Allen Susser is at the helm of Jade Mountain Club, dishing up seasonal fusion fare in the dreamy indoor/outdoor restaurant.

Romance Tip: Don’t miss cocktails on the Celestial Terrace at sunset. Perched above the Jade Mountain Club, you’ll watch the sun dip into the Caribbean Sea as the night sky comes into view. You can also organize a private dinner for two up here for an extra fee.

Getting There: It’s a beautiful but winding one-hour drive from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) through the mountains. The resort can organize a taxi in advance; fees change based on the time of day.

After the big day, all you want to do is relax and unwind. All-inclusive honeymoon packages are a great way to have a hassle-free romantic getaway.
